With two decades of experience in treating infertility, I can offer a wealth of expertise.
I am an experienced fertility acupuncturist who has undertaken extensive training in how to combine acupuncture with Assisted Reproductive Therapy (ART) such as IVF, ICSI.
Via my advanced fertility acupuncture diploma I gained a
comprehensive understanding of fertility in western medicine and use my in depth knowledge of medical testing, hormone cycles, reproductive immunology and much more to support you through your ART protocols.
I continue my professional development in all areas of fertility and women’s health every year to ensure I am up to date with new and developing ART treatment strategies ensuring I am the best advocate and practitioner for my patients.
When Things Don’t go to plan
We didn’t expect this.
Unfortunately, for many couples, natural conception is not possible and medical intervention is necessary. This can take the form of stimulated ovulation cycles, IUI, IVF, ICSI, donor eggs, donor sperm or frozen embryo transfers. Assisted reproductive therapy is also used for single parenthood and same sex couples.
I am a great believer that acupuncture can help assisted conception and I use acupuncture to support you through what can be an overwhelming and stressful process. For many women the feeling they have lost control of their bodies can bring up a lot of emotions at a time when they are desperate to create a relaxed environment. Many women have told me that acupuncture is an oasis of calm during these months.
Ideally, I like to work with you for three months before any protocol begins. I endeavour to create the optimum environment, supporting egg and sperm quality and giving you the best chance of success. After this time, I work alongside the assisted conception protocol and treat you through every stage in the hope I can support a positive outcome.
During an IVF cycle (post preparation period) acupuncture treatments are ideally given at the following times:
Weekly unless your body is signalling it needs extra help due to thin lining or reduced follicle growth.
Around the time of egg collection (usually the following day) to prepare your body for transfer.
On the day of transfer pre- and post, research points to 2 acupuncture treatments on the day or within 24 hours is ideal.
During the two week wait: treatment at this time helps to calm the nervous system and relax you as much as possible.

I understand the waiting to start IVF, the loss of control, questioning your body every day of the process and the overwhelm and frustration of when you have been through an assisted cycle, done everything, given up everything in the hope of it working and ending up disappointed.
We will work together to get you back in control of your body and emotions (one of acupuncture’s unique secret weapons.)
I can arm you with the knowledge of what is going on in your body leading up to ART. With improved sleep, relaxation, digestion and overall health, your body and mind will be ready to conceive.
